NV Russian River Valley Sparkling Wine, Healdsburg, CA (S) $22 — Rating 92

J Cuvee 20 is a elegant sparkler at a superb price. 49% Chardonnay and 49% Pinot with a touch of oak and residual sugar. Notes of red apple, raspberry, caramel, citrus and pear dissolve into a smooth lush finish. My mother, a sparkling wine fanatic, absolutely loved these bubbles.  A well deserved 90 from WE.

2008 Napa Valley, CA $20 — Rating 92

I can’t say enough about Twenty Rows Napa Cabernet. I thought the 2007 was the best $20 Napa Cabernet and the 2008 follows suit. Very drinkable now with just a short decant. From the winemakers at Vinoce, this Cab is a great value.

2007 Paso Robles, CA $32 (S) — Rating 90

An excellent Paso Cabernet Red Zeppelin is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, 4% Merlot, 3% Petite Sirah, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. A big wine but not as big as it’s Napa cousins. Give it a half hour to breathe and it softens nicely. Limited production…Contact Red Zeppelin Winery for purchase

2003 Napa Valley, CA $60 — Rating 92

Mi Sueno translates into “My Dream” and this Cabernet is a dream. Big and bold jammy blackberry, dark cherry and supple tannins. Big in the mouth yet not overpowering. WE -92
