2011 Belle Glos Diaryman Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, CA, $44 (S) – Rating 92

A wonderful new addition to the Belle Glos lineup of single-vineyard Pinot Noirs. As single-vineyard wines should, this Pinot offers a unique combination of flavors when compared to the other Belle Glos Pinots. A robust nose of black cherry, ripe plum, black fruit with hints of rhubarb and cinnamon. An interesting balance of juicy acidity and supple tannins on the palate with rich delicious flavors of dark cherry, ripe plum, dark spice, cinnamon and cola with just a hint of chocolate on the finish. 2010 Bohème Taylor Ridge Vineyard Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast, CA, $39 (S) – Rating 94

Rarely does a Chardonnay grab my attention but this intriguing contradiction of  the lighter style combined with rich flavors certainly did. Aromas of lemon crème and roasted pineapple set the stage for an elegant marriage of flavors including baked apples, pie spice, Meyer lemon vanilla and cinnamon with hints of green apple in the long finish. A light creamy mouth-feel with balanced acidity. Buy This Wine

2012 Alpha Omega Winery Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, CA, $33 (S) – Rating 92

An excellent example of what Napa Sauvignon Blanc can be. A beautiful floral nose with notes of citrus and honeysuckle. Balanced acidity with a round mouth-feel offering flavors of pineapple creme, lemon minerality and bright spice. Pairs well with summer fare and lighter meats…or just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. Buy This Wine

2011 Trione Vineyards & Winery River Road Ranch Sauvignon Blanc, Russian River Valley, CA, $23 (S) – Rating 90

A very well rounded SB with crisp acidity. Aged for 4 months in neutral oak barrels to round off the edges. Aromas of lemon creme, wet stone and a hint of orange zest. Robust and slightly tart flavors of Meyer lemon, lime and minerality with notes of green apple as the wine opens. Pair with creamy cheeses, grilled chicken or other lighter fare. Buy This Wine
