2011 Belle Glos Pinot Noir Blanc, Brugion Vineyard, Sonoma County, CA, $18 (S) – Rating 91

Consistently great Pinot Noir Rose’ with plenty of body. Perfect with grilled salmon or as a sipper during an orange summer sunset. The nose offers scents of strawberry and cherry while the wine sports a robust mouth-feel with flavors of ripe strawberry, ripe cherry, cranberry, rhubarb and pie spice. There is nothing wimpy about this dry pink in your glass.

2008 Clancy’s Barossa Red by Peter Lehmann Barossa, Australia, $17 (S) – Rating 88

An excellent value blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a nose of dark cherry, plum and spice. From the glass, flavors of dark cherry, plum, cocoa, cola, soft spices and a touch of sweetness are complimented by very soft tannins. Great pizza or BBQ wine!

2011 Abacela Viognier, Estate Grown, Umpqua Valley, OR, $22 (S) – Rating 90

This Oregon Viognier presents aromas of pear and spice. Flavors abound with pear, apple, apricot, pineapple with a hint of honeycomb and minerality. The wine offers up good acidity but still has a pleasantly round mouth-feel. Buy this Wine

2010 Parducci Small Lot Blend Sauvignon Blanc, Mendocino County, CA, $11 (S) – Rating 89

Looking for a great go-to SB this summer…This double Gold Medal winner may be the answer. A great value, this Mendocino SB opens with a nose of apple and pineapple. Clean flavors of pineapple, citrus, melon, pear, granny smith apples and river stone are complimented by enough zippy acidity to pair well with summer fare. Buy This Wine

2009 Crosby Roamann Cabernet Sauvignon Dark Garden, Napa Valley, CA, $75 (S) – Rating 91

A bold Cabernet with those Napa Cab components we love. A complex nose of smokey cherry is the prelude to flavors of ripe cherry, dark berry, plum, cocoa, black pepper and baking spice. Moderate yet supple tannins add structure and backbone. Decant for at least an hour. Buy This Wine
