2008 – Paso Robles, CA $20 — Rating 86

Nice, supple Cab characteristics but not assertive enough to over power food. Very approachable after about 10-15 minutes in glass. While this is not a “Mind Blowing” Cab, it is a very easy drinker and a heck of a value at under $20. Consider this wine as an after work or guests dropped by “go to” Cabernet.

Benessere calls this blend of Cabernet, Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah a Super-Napan because the blend is similar to an Italian Super-Tuscan. I call Phenomenon…PHENOMENAL! (all puns intended) I was blown away by this creative blend. Expect rich flavors of dark ripe cherry, a touch of smokey oak, plum and worn saddle leather. Grab a bottle for a cold night and snuggle up with your honey.

For under $20 this cab is fantastic. Twenty Rows made by Vinoce is pretty fruit forward with soft tannins and a long silky finish. The flavors and aromas were all very indicative of a good Napa Cabernet.  Order directly from  Twenty Rows

Rich and complex with dark flavors like black berries and currants with a hint of cedar. The tannins were big but soft enough. After two passes through the Vinturi and an hour in the decanter, this bad boy opened up beautifully. Give it a little more time.
