2007 Whistling Dog Pinot Noir, NSV Estate, Eola – Amity Hills, OR, $19 (S) – Rating 4.1

At under $20 Whistling Dog is one heck of a Pinot value! Medium bodied with flavors of cherry, red berries and a hint of musky smoke give this wine an artistic and rustic feel rarely found at this price point. Beautifully balanced with a satisfyingly long finish. Get it while you can.

  1. I’m definitely going to track this down. That’s the magic price point for OR Pinot. It’s almost impossible to get something good for under $20. Argyle or Adelshiem’s entry bottles are usually the best options out here on the east coast, but they’re usually more like $24. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything under $20 with an AVA designation either—Amity Hills!!!
